You will need to figure out a way to keep the top spike straight, or else it flops over. I used gap-filling foam in mine and it worked great. You also might want to cut a slit or two in the top for ventilation, or expect to sweat inside! Otherwise, it looks awesome.

One night while frolicking amongst the hobbitses in the shire… my boy came to me and exclaimed, “Daddy, daddy! I want to be the Witch King of Angmar for All Hallow’s Eve!” I laughed heartily and replied, “Oh surely my boy you shall be as frightening as Smaug himself!” HAHAHA! So, we set off on our quest. At each stop throughout the evening whence knocking upon hobbit holes, our neighbors emerged with candy and always seemed to be alarmed at the initial sight of the Witch King at their door! One Hobbit in particular – a Frodo Baggins, even brandished his weapon upon hearing the Witch King exclaim “Trick or Treat!” But, I Gandalf eased his fears and candy was exchanged for his life. Henceforth, let it ever be known that this mask was the Lord of the Masks.

This is a cool looking mask slightly better than pictured:-The face area is a fine fabric that does not hide your face well but it keeps the mask somewhat in shape. Pictured is rubber with a few breathing holes which would mean only a few seconds of wearable time for me. You may want a scarf to cover your mouth and chin. Easy enough.-The “metal” parts are antique metal color, the drape parts (rear/top) are black. The mask is floppy, you’ll need to add a band inside along the top which will support the horns from behind. A one inch wide strip of cardboard works wonders and is very light. The main spike is very floppy, cardboard works there too. They included enough cardboard for both in the form of the amazon box in comes in 🙂 scissors and tape not includedFYI I altered this mask, removing the drapes for heat control. It still looks awesome but it’s a little more floppy now.

All in all, it is a good mask. The paint job makes it look like weathered metal and it is great for a comic con or a costume party. I will just say, though, that, if you have the time, it might needs a few touch-ups to make it look more authentic:1) I expected it to be, like any other mask, made of flexible rubber, so that is the same. However, the spikes don’t always like to stay in place, so I would recommend putting something in the spikes so that they will stay rigid and straight.2) It is also a little bit big. Though the ad did say “one size,” it is not a “one size fits all.” I’m 19, and knowing that it’s a little bit big on me (about a quarter of a centimeter around my head of free space), you might want to put something on your head that is hard so that it will keep its shape.3) The portion of the mask that covers your mouth is only a thin net that won’t hide anything. That’s not really bad (except that that’s not what they advertised), but my suggestion is to have some form of a secondary mask (like a morph suit mask) underneath this one so that it will hide both your eyes and your mouth.4) Last of all, for the back of the mask, toward the bottom of it, there is a lot of visible text. My suggestion is to either just deal with it or cover it up (depending on how you do your costume), or cut off the whole hood portion of the mask (it was originally just a face mask put over a hood with a band to hold it on). I advise that you do NOT sand the words off unless you can find paint that can cover it up and not be noticeable as the rubber natural color is tan.Like I said, it IS still a good mask, but you may need to do some extra, EASY work on it to make it look authentic.

My son loves this mask! The horns do flop down somewhat, but didn’t seem to bother my son. Got the ring wraith robe to go with this and was a great costume for my LOTR-loving son.

While the mask did serve its purpose. It is much thinner that the details give. The face mesh was NOT attached and I had to hot glue myself. The crown(spikes) will not stand alone. I had to stuff the inside with paper towels to get them thick enough to hold and stand alone.

The mask is what I thought I would get and I love it. The material covering the mouth is too shear, but I plan to wear a buff with it , so not a problem. I felt so inspired by it I am constructing with-king gauntlets to complete the outfit.
