I bought this mask to wear to Comic Con, and it did not disappoint. The only problem was that it was stiflingly hot to wear, and I could not fit my glasses over it. Solution: I took scissors and carefully cut out the black plastic between the teeth, so I could breath better and pull the mouth open over my head to wear my glasses. I was apprehensive at first that the shape of the mask would be compromised, but much to my pleased surprise, it retained it’s shape, fit better, and was infinitely more comfortable! Now I can wear the mask comfortably over my glasses, or pull it back so it looks like I’m being EATEN by a Gorn! I just painted my hands green and wore a Star Trek uniform (first Gorn in Starfleet), but The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard gloves look like they would pair nicely with this. Overall impressive, great likeness, recommended especially for fans!

Needed a Gorn mask as part of a costume for a running team (team theme was “Run Redshirt Run”) This fit the bill very well. Easy to put on, but you will need to pad the top so that it sits properly on your head. Looks good and if you wear sunglasses, people cannot see the eyeholes. Actually they are pretty hard to see in the first place since they are in the corner of the eye which is a naturally dark spot.People complained of the smell of the rubber, but I think it was more that they didn’t want to wear the mask. I did not find it overpowering and wore the mask for 20+ minutes at a time (in the July sun…) I think I could wear it much longer in a cooler environment, and the smell would be tolerable for several hours (and I’m a person that hates chemical smells.)Mask material is sturdy, but the mask could be damaged by careless treatment. Also, have a plan for storing this bad boy because if you just toss it in a box and expect it to be good a year later, you’ll be disappointed. I got a large box, a Styrofoam manikin head and some plain, unprinted newspaper (like you’d use for packing.) I glued the manikin head to a piece of cardboard to keep it upright, stuffed newspaper in the crown of the mask, put the mask over the head, put it in the box and put some extra paper around it to protect it from shifting. I checked on it a month and a half later and it’s good. Now I just need to get some Gorn hands and feet.

Love my Gorn mask!Big enough to be comfortable; in fact, so big I had to add sponges inside to stabilize it and keep it from wobbling. The odor of the latex had a vaguely butterscotch scent, which was not objectionable, and faded after a few airings.I wore this to Dragon Con 2017, and had a blast. I wore it for extended periods, and yes, it was hot, but not Vasquez Rocks hot, if you know what I mean. (I know that you do.) I got mine signed by Shatner! W00t!

Much like the Mugato mask I stated I am not a Star Trek fan but love this mask. It reminds me of the creature from Track of the Moon Beast and its slightly different than the one pictured but its still a nice looking mask. Lots of room and easy to see out of. A must for a collector and especially a Star Trek fan.

Great quality mask! My grandson loved it! He’s only just turning 5 and is a Trekkie already, LOL! It is of course an adult sized mask, but he loves wearing it all the same, and it’s holding up well. For dressing up at Halloween, Conventions or CosPlay this is a fun, quality mask.

The media could not be loaded. Â First off, I’m a fan filmmaker and needed a variety of different Gorn characters, so I purchased both this mask from Rubies and the one from Trick or Treat Studios. I’ve also done a bit of reworking of both masks, adding the rhinestones to the eyes to give them that sparkle. But both masks have a good look in the stock eyes if you do not want to change anything. I will say that the Rubies mask is a little softer than the Trick or Treat Studios mask and required a little more repaint to get some additional detailing. It comes as a very saturated almost teal green. The improvement that I most appreciated though, was that they stopped cutting out the mouth sides. It is now a lot more realistic out of the package. The eye holes were still way too large, so I put foam behind them to reduce them a bit and did a repaint of the entire mask to desaturate it some and add a little more detail and also repainted the teeth as the existing paint job was sort of plain white and didn’t really cover the teeth completely. I also painted on ear detail that is missing from the Rubies mask.Out of the package, I’d prefer the Trick or Treat Studios Mask, but Rubies really is a very close second. It’s also less expensive if you can still get it. I like that they both look like the original Gorn and yet look different enough to be different characters. All in all, prepare to do a little more work on the Rubies to make it glorious, but it still is a good mask out of the package if you just want a quick costume. I give the Rubies 4.8 stars and the other one 5, but that’s just because of the extra work it needs, not due to the quality of it overall.UPDATE 8-17-21: I got a chance to inspect the same Rubies mask from a few years ago today, and compared to that one, this edition was thicker and more robust material, a vast improvement over the older version. I hope that Rubies will continue to produce the better quality version and that it will be made available again. The older one was very soft and did not hold its shape at all. It was from the same mold/same sculpt. I guess I lucked out that I got the improved version. :)Update 6-19-23:Needed one last mask for the film so when this became available again, I got a second one. The new mask was a little thicker latex, so even better. It had small sideholes at the jaw that I covered. We did a nice repaint on that one as well. Instead of rhinestones, we used chrome paint on the eyes this time.

Colors are great, workmanship is good and does fit a “medium” head well. Material is a little thin, but if you are careful, it works. The Gorn will be “Merciful and Quick”
